TEST MARKETING
The definition of a “test market” within the field of business and marketing is a geographic region or demographic group that is used to gauge the viability of a product or service prior to its launch into core markets.
The criteria used to judge the acceptability of a test market region are:
- a population that is demographically similar to the proposed core market
- its relative isolation from densely populated media markets in order for advertising to the test audience remains efficient and economical

- Versions of the product
- Product Message(s)
- Price
- Media mix
- Creative copy
- Distribution channels
